Returning to God

My life has been hectic lately, I am sorry I don’t have a polished post. Please listen to the audio, below are some of my favorite/key points from the message.
We must individually humble our souls before God and put away our idols.[…]
For nations as well as for individuals, the path of obedience to God is the path of safety and happiness, while that of transgression leads only to disaster and defeat. The Philistines were now so completely subdued that they surrendered the strongholds which had been taken from Israel and refrained from acts of hostility for many years. Other nations followed this example, and the Israelites enjoyed peace until the close of Samuel’s sole administration.

Notes on Romans 1
Romans 1:18 Wrath of God revealed against ungodliness leads to unrighteousness. A rejection of God leads to moral failure.
Romans 1:23 worship of anything less than God causes the worshiper to behave in ways that are less than human.
A consistent rejection of God and indulgence in sin makes us senseless, we behave foolishly, we suffer and cause others to suffer.
Romans 1:32 know it is wrong, but not only continue to do it but also loves bad things and protect and affirm those who do bad things.
Change begins with us educating the next generation. Teaching our kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews, about God, and how all humans are created in His image and how precious a single human life is to Jesus, and how we ought to love even our enemies, and how God loves everyone and wants everyone to live.
Jesus said blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God (Matthew 5:9)
The change begins with us standing up for those who cannot defend themselves. We cannot afford to allow any type of discrimination to take place on our watch. Everyone around us should know that about us, whether they agree or disagree they should know that you will not allow it. We must be salt and light (Matthew 5:13-16), we must make a difference. From not laughing at racist jokes to standing up against racism and discrimination in any form. Let us be an example for our children and for our community.
Open your mouth for those who cannot speak, and for the rights of those who are left without help. Open your mouth. Be right and fair in what you decide. Stand up for the rights of those who are suffering and in need.
Proverbs 31:8-9 NLV
Not because of politics, or anything else besides our personal relationship with God and with what He calls us to do.
Learn to do good;
Seek justice,
Rebuke the oppressor;
Defend the fatherless,
Plead for the widow.
Proverbs 1:17 NKJV
