Education for Eternity

What is education really for?

Is it simply about helping our children get good grades, attend college, find a successful career, and build a good life? Or is there something more?

Long before I ever entered a classroom, I was already being educated. My home, my parents, my church, and the people around me were shaping my values, identity, and understanding of the world.

In my latest blog post, I explore the purpose of Adventist education and why true education is about far more than academics. It is about helping children know God, understand who they are in Christ, develop the ability to think, form Christlike character, and learn to live as citizens of God's kingdom.

I also share why I believe Christians should have an “accent” from another kingdom—and why one of the most important things we can give the next generation is something they can carry with them wherever life takes them.

The doctrine of the Sanctuary is often considered one of the unique doctrines held by Seventh-day Adventists. Many have questions regarding this doctrine, and this interview with Dr. Davidson (part 1) is a great starting place. This podcast is geared toward Adventists, but it will benefit anyone interested in better understanding the doctrine of the Sanctuary. In this post, I explore the powerful words of Deuteronomy 6 and the call to love God with all our heart, soul, and strength. The challenge is not merely to hear God’s Word or even to believe it—but to allow it to shape the way we think, act, speak, and live.

I also share some of the simple ways I try to make faith a natural part of everyday life, from praying with my children to sharing stories about what God has done.

Our faith was never meant to remain an intellectual exercise. The truth we believe should shape the life we live.
