Blog + PodcastI started my blog on April 1, 2017, with the hopes of encouraging people ot grow in their personal relationship with God. I wrote my first post almost 9 years ago! That first year (April to December), my blog received a grand total of 843 visits. I was so happy that people were finding value in what I was posting. In 2018 (January-December), my blog received 1,665 visits;
in 2019, 2,480;
in 2020, 2,476;
in 2021, 2,997;
in 2022, 3,357
in 2023, 3,995
in 2024, 7,383,
and in 2025, 26,207! My most popular blog post of all time is “Some of my Favorite Bible Verses for Prayer.” The statistics for my podcast are trickier because it is available on so many platforms. According to Podtrack.com, my podcast has been downloaded 19,597 times since I first began (maybe April 27, 2018?) Surprisingly, 41.9% of my downloads seem to come from France!? Followed by the US (26.9%), China (7.4%), and Singapore (5.4%). According to Spotify, my podcast audience grew by 400% in 2025. My average rating was higher than 75% of other shows, and I received more comments than 78% of other shows. My podcast is mostly the audio from my sermon with occasional bonus episodes and interviews. I make my sermons available as a podcast so people can listen to them while driving, cleaning, or exercising. But I never expected people in France and China to be listening. (You can subscribe for free on Spotify, and your positive reviews and comments really help it gain visibility) I know that in the grand scheme of things, my blog visits and podcast downloads are tiny. But I share them because it encourages me to see this aspect of my ministry growing. I have come really close to stopping my blog and podcast multiple times, wondering if it’s worth all the extra effort. Seeing these numbers motivates me to keep making these resources available. I also hope that if you’re considering starting a blog or podcast, you will get started. You never know what kind of reach you might have in the future.
