Who Are God’s Remnant People?

If someone asked you, “If your church is the true church, how were people saved before it existed?” how would you respond?

That question is at the heart of my latest blog post.

Many people assume that the oldest church must be the true church. But what if the Bible presents a different picture? What if God’s people were never meant to be identified primarily by a denomination, but by a faithful relationship with Him throughout history?

In this post, I explore the biblical idea of the remnant and argue that God has always preserved a faithful people—from Adam and Eve, through Israel, to the Christian church, and ultimately to His end-time people.

Along the way, we’ll look at Revelation 12:17, the road to Emmaus, and why Jesus pointed His followers back to all of Scripture to understand His identity and mission.

This isn’t a post about claiming superiority or exclusivity. It’s a reminder that being part of God’s remnant is about faithfulness, mission, and a life centered on Jesus and His teachings as revealed in the Bible.

I recently spent quite a bit of time reflecting on Luke 24. I focused especially on verses 13-35 and the road to Emmaus. There is a song based on verse 29
“But they constrained Him, saying, “Abide with us, for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent.” And He went in to stay with them.”
